The Palisades Fire began the evening of May 14, 2021 in Santa Ynez Canyon, in Pacific Palisades, CA. On a hike September 6, the hills were still covered in ash, trees were burned and down, yet growth does return as just 4 months later despite the heat and dry weather there are patches of green.
